This is really a nice little light. Dorcy works as mentioned in the description. We now have seven of these little guys installed in our patio area and recently bought two more to give to a neighbor. A very good choice for the price. This light is extremely bright and covers a wide arc.
As I entered rooms with the motion lights I had light. They work perfectly and are brighter than you would think. All my flashlight batteries were dead (not really prepared). I returned to buy a second one since I loved the first one so much. After that I decided to light up around my house. I called Amazon.com today, and was instructed to contact the manufacturer (Dorcy). I put up several around my garage and really like them.
I am extremely happy with it. Simple installation, I used 3 DURACELL D12 PROCELL in each. I finally got the batteries situated correctly and the thing works. I was skeptical at first, but once I received the item I have been very impressed. I'm a happy camper. Don't take the base apart to find out because it's a colossal pain to put it back. Until then, we're VERY happy with our purchase! The motion sensor is very sensitive. I hung it up today, which was very easy to do, and tested it several times. But once mounted, the black color of the lights was perfect, they don't look out-of-place, and in fact, almost look like part of the tree, from a short distance away.
Took a little time to figure out how to screw it into the door jamb, but once it was put in place, the light works great. The light is bright enough for easily finding one's way across a fifteen-foot-wide driveway.
If you think you have it together and come up with directions you can't possibly follow, just burn the paper and go hang out the light, bought two of these units about 6 months ago, they work so great i just ordered two more. She liked it so much that she asked me to get her another one.
