The instant I picked up the Universal Solar Charger USB Edition, I was doubtful with regards to its compatibility with all of my own different devices. I typically have a laptop, ipad device, and GPS. Being compatible with my GPS unit is especially critical, as I enjoy trekking and quite often use GPS to track my position. The Universal proved that it's certainly perfect for recharging every one of my gadgets without having a problem. The Universal includes a various charger adapters that enable it to connect to a number of different gadgets. It is probably worth noting that the bundle doesn't have a micro USB charger adapter, that's necessary for the Amazon kindle along with other small handheld products. Fortunately, it was a little enough product to get elsewhere.
In the field, the Universal Solar Charger is efficient, light-weight and compact. Being only about 240 grams in weight, I found it did not trouble me at all to include the battery charger with my gear. It is also fairly durable. I had it stuffed along with my notebook computer and mobile. The exterior case is made of a fireproof plastic material, so I didn't have to worry too much in regards to the summer temperature or accidentally putting it too close to a fire. However, I'd personally not really advocate the latter.
Re-charging a laptop requires a while, many hours, but I found out that using the charger to maintain charge level of my computer as used it is a pretty good option while on the go. Additionally, the charger works as an extended battery. I discovered that I was able to charge up the Universal before venturing out to work or go hiking and then use the charger as a backup battery for my gadgets without the usualwaiting for a charge. Yet another good thing with regards to the Universal Solar Charger USB Edition is the fact that I can recharge it from a wall outlet at home. In this way I don't need to wait for a sunny day before I charge up the Universal to take with me when I venture out.
As a side notice, although the Universal Solar Charger is durable, it is manufactured from plastic material. You might like to consider buying a small cushioned cover to protect it in, to keep the Universal functioning at it's best.
In summary then, I love this gadget! It's exactly what I need when I'm out and about
