Museums To Visit In The Yorkshire Dales

With its amazing natural beauty and charm along with its rich historical heritage, it comes as no surprise at all that the Yorkshire Dales is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the United Kingdom. The Dales is located in Northern England, and its location certainly adds to its charm. There are a number of attractions you'll want to visit during your holiday, and you'll also want a nice place to return to every night while you're there.

The Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton, which has one of the best reputations for service, accommodation, and atmosphere, is an excellent choice when you're considering hotels in the Yorkshire Dales. In fact, in many ways, it's unsurpassed entirely. From the Rendezvous hotel, you'll set out during your holiday to see many of the natural wonders in the area. Yes, you want to explore the countryside, but did you know that there are also number of excellent museums you can visit in the Yorkshire Dales. 2. The Wensleydale Cheese Museum is great for those members of your party interested in eating! Located in Hawes, the museum presents the history of cheese making in England and has an eclectic range of cheeses available. You'll even have the opportunity to see skilled cheese makers at work, so make sure you don't spend all of your time in whichever of the Yorkshire Dales hotels you choose.

3. Very near the Rendezvous hotel in Skipton is the Yorkshire Dales Mining Museum. It boasts an extremely large collection of mining relics. In fact, it's not just the largest in the Dales. It's the largest in in the world. Mining and agriculture make up the culture and history of the area, so you won't want to pass up the opportunity to experience the museum. Any of the Yorkshire Dales hotels should be able to steer you in the right direction to send you on your way.

4. The Nidderdale Museum is located in Pately Bridge, one of the loveliest of all towns in the Dales. There are a number of options at this museum. You won't be disappointed if your tastes run to agricultural history, mining history, or even costumes! If transportation interests you, there's a wonderful exhibit for that as well.

When you go to the Yorkshire Dales, you will most certainly want to explore the natural beauty of the scenery and the way the landscape has changed over the centuries. You'll also want to make sure you see the various historically significant castles that make our past come alive. Don't neglect the museums, though.
