How To Be Prepared In Your Call Center Job Interview

By Andrea Curtis

You have graduated high school or college and now you are ready for your first 'real' job. You've mailed out rsums and have been called in for your first call center job interview. How are you able to do well at the interview so you wind up being offered the job?

Dress professionally. No belly shirts, low-cut blouses or flip-flops because you are going to work and not the beach. While it's not critical to buy a suit, it is extremely important to look pro. If you're making an attempt to get a job in a conservative office like an accountancy firm, don't dress as if you were going to a gig. If you're applying for a retail position, you've got a little more freedom. Instead of list what clothing is and is not satisfactory, I would tell you to dress as if you were going to meet one of the most vital folks in your life where you may give your nicely written call center resume.

Make sure you are well-groomed. Do not look like you simply rolled out of bed and couldn't bother to look after basic private cleanliness. Nothing will make the HR Manager bring the interview to a close quicker than unwashed hair, filthy fingernails or body odour. As an employee, you will be a mirrored image of the company and no consumer wants to conduct business with a rough person.

Be aware of your body language. A firm handshake at the start of the call center job interview shows you are self-confident. Maintain eye contact, stay relaxed and be alert to the interviewer. Ask questions and listen thoughtfully to the answers. Think before you answer questions from the interviewer- don't ramble and keep the conversation on the topic.

Be prepared for the interview. Research the company and call center jobs beforehand- each business now has an internet site where you can find out what they do and who their clients are. This shows the interviewer you have got an interest in the job and took the lead to discover all you could about the company.

Be present in the interview. I have interviewed candidates who acted as if they were waiting for a bus. They did not ask questions, but instead just listened to me, and I was not truly sure if they were listening. Be enthused, ask questions and participate in the interview. After listing all of the commitments needed of the position, I asked one candidate if this sounded like something she'd be interested in. Her reply was a quiet, "I can do the job." She did not answer my question , she appeared unexcited, and she did not get the job. If you cannot be excited in the interview, you are not going to be energized in the workplace either.

1st impressions count in a call center job interview, and you wish to let the interviewer know you want the job, are willing to work diligently and will do your best. You may not necessarily be the most qualified candidate, but still land the job because you were the most major one. Good luck!
