How to Use Blog Posts As Content for a Book

If you write regular posts to your blog, you are likely to have a wealth of content that is just dying to be repurposed into a book or an eBook. Get this: the best thing is that your blog posts are 100% original self-owned content. That's to say that if you own your blog site as opposed to writing for someone else's site, the posts that you personally create are yours to do with them what you want. You can reformat those posts and create an eBook based solely on the content from your blog.

If you've been writing blog posts for some time, you may have more than just one book in your hands; you are likely to have several. Why not turn those posts into a compilation of blog posts by placing them in your book? You should, and in light of what some people may think, you can still sell your blog posts as a book. Your blog posts may be freely available to people who visit your blog. Yet, they may be unavailable to people who don't visit your blog. Examples include individuals that are on different sales channels such as Amazon.com, or even those people who are not in your network. Your blog book may be completely new to them, mainly because they have probably never visited your blog and are unfamiliar with you. Lastly, you don't have to be afraid to sell your blog book to people who are familiar with your blog, such as your subscribers. The reasons are as follows:

People pay for packaging. What's the difference between tap water and a brand name bottle of water? Packaging-though some may disagree here. In any event, your blog book can be packaged into a pretty book or eBook with a nice cover that compels even your blog subscribers to buy.

It's their personal property. Your book is your customers' personal copy of your blog. It's their property, and they have full ownership. If you write good posts for your blog that helps your readers, why wouldn't they want to buy the book?

It's convenient access. Can you imagine being able to take a book with you wherever you go, whether it's in paperback or eBook form for a device like Kindle? Well, look at that issue from your customers' point of view. People pay for convenience. By purchasing your blog compilation book, they can access your blog material anytime they want. They won't have to visit your site, search through posts, bookmark the site, or anything else. They can just read the material in paperback or through an e-Reader.

It's reformatted and updated. You don't have to copy your blog verbatim to compose your book. Try reformatting the posts: change the titles, add updates related to new trends or statistics, create better headings, change a few sentences around, add sentences, and more. Although your book may be essentially the same material, your improvements can make the book 10 times better than your blog. Besides, anyone comparing your book to your blog may notice that some changes have been made. Your book may appear to be an updated, fresher version of your blog posts. Accordingly, they may want access to those updates by purchasing your book.

Incentives to purchase. You can offer people special incentives for purchasing your blog book. Many people may have access to your free content on your blog, but they are not likely to have access to the special bonuses you give unless they purchase your book. Find out what your audience values, and give them some related bonuses if they purchase your book.'

I hope that you are able to publish your next book by using material already on your blog.
